High-Speed Train Wash Plant for Hong Kong

The train wash plant in Hong Kong will be completed and running by May 2015.

Jebsen & Jessen Technology - Industrial Services will design, manufacture, install and commission the first fully automated train wash plant in Hong Kong for customer, MTR Corporation. We celebrated after winning the full turnkey contract on 19 March 2012.

The plant will be installed in the new Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) depot facility.  Working closely with our technology partner Aquafrisch from Spain, the plant is designed specially to cater to the daily washing operations of up to eight or more different models of high-speed train that range in length from 200m to 420m (that’s almost half a kilometre of train!).

Jeremy Chee, Regional Director, explained the significance for the team. “This project win is a major milestone for us. For the past twenty years, we have been a strong player in the railway maintenance sector but predominately in Singapore, this is a major step forward as we are now expanding beyond the shore of South East Asia and expanding our product portfolio to include depot maintenance.”
